Description
Here we have an early 20th century engagement ring. The wonderfully intricate 18 carat gold band is claw set with a beautiful cushion-cut Ceylon/Sri Lankan Sapphire. Ceylon sapphires originate from Ceylon or Sri Lanka. They are widely used in sapphire engagement rings and other fine jewellery because of their rich velvet-y hue and robust durability. This ring is detailed with a diamond cluster, an ornate gallery and an open under-carriage, allowing the light to pass through and illuminate the azure gemstone.
