French, Art Deco 4ct Diamond Bombé Dress Ring, Platinum

A magnificent Art Deco diamond bombé ring. Art Deco designs of the late 1930s started to move away from the intricate geometric forms of the previous decade, and took their inspiration from machinery and architectural forms. An immensely stylish and very glamorous addition to anyone’s jewellery collection – perfect as a cocktail ring, his diamond marvel is likely to steal the show, but durable enough for everyday wear. • Emerald-Diamond-Navette-Ring-Art-Deco-Vintage-18ct-Yellow-Gold

An Impressive Emerald and Diamond Navette Ring, 18ct Yellow Gold

Emeralds are commonly included stones, with fissures, feathers, crystals and fluid-filled inclusions. This emerald however balances its classic, rich green colour with excellent clarity and purity, its colour heightened by yellow gold settings against a silvered mount set with circular-cut diamonds. Rings in this distinctive design are known as ‘navette’ rings – literally meaning ‘little boat’, from the shape of their settings. Popular from the 18th century onwards, they were prized for their elongating effect on the hand of the wearer. This navette ring is an unusually late example of this classic design, dated to 1927, and is made in a traditional way, but using the newly-discovered and refined platinum for the front for extra durability, ensuring it does not tarnish. A truly elegant design, with a breathtaking centre stone.   Please view the technical details below. Antique | Edwardian, 18ct Gold, Ruby and Diamond Ring

With beautifully proportioned unheated deep lively red ruby at its heart, this elegant fin-de-siècle antique ring shows all the lightness and grace of the Belle Epoque, with two rows of cushion-shaped diamonds in delicate millegrain detailed borders at the border and elegantly scrolled shoulders giving it the slightest hint of Art Nouveau poetry. • 18th-Century-Georgian-Portrait-Diamond-Ring-Antique-Vintage-Boutique

A Rare, 18th Century, Georgian, Portrait Diamond Ring

Portrait miniatures were one of the most important and intimate art forms of the early Renaissance, and continued to be treasured in various guises until the advent of photography. They could commemorate a lost loved one, display one’s pride and love for their family, or be given as a token of affection from one lover to another. The beautiful woman in this 18th century portrait miniature is adorned with a large pearl earring, and jewelled head ornament, in a pink bodice lined with lace that shows her beautifully pale décolletage. This romantic portrait is skilfully rendered by the artist, and the jeweller has set it within a sparkling border of antique cushion-shaped diamonds. A rare survival in excellent condition, this superb Vintage Ring would be the perfect addition to anyone’s antique jewellery collection.

Georgian, 18ct Gold, Silver, Emerald and Diamond Ring

The settings of the diamonds in this antique ring are indicative of an early 19th century date, when jewels were mounted in silver on gold, and stones were set in large collets which were then pinched together and cut down to fit the edges of the stone to hold it in place. The patination of the silver offsets the diamonds in this ring beautifully, which surround a step-cut emerald in a beautiful, summery shade of bright bluish-green. The openwork setting of this ring is particularly interesting as it starkly contrasts the opulent paving of diamonds and lustrous azure sapphires. The Art Deco movement marked a time of exuberant excess, however it also represented scientific progress and drew inspiration from geometry and technology. • Antique-Emerald-Diamond-Art-Nouveau-Jewellery-Ring

Art Nouveau, 18ct Gold, Emerald and Diamond Ring

The elongated shape of this ring has its origins in the 18th century boat-shaped ‘navette’ rings of the 18th century. This version, with its curving, leaf-like contours, is clearly informed by Art Nouveau, a turn-of-the-century movement characterised by aesthetically stylised naturalism, and sinuous, dramatic lines. The unusual cuts of the outer emeralds are a particularly rare feature. The outer emeralds are extraordinary as they slightly curve to fit the contours of the ring’s outline - a difficult and expensive feat for a lapidary to accomplish with any gemstone. To finish it off, a line of beautifully matched circular-cut diamonds down the centre, bordered by four marquise-shaped emeralds, paired like newly sprouted leaves, some smaller diamond accents and a delicate millegrain border. This is a miniature masterpiece, it is romantic and unique making it a wonderful choice for an antique engagement ring. Please view the technical details below. This extremely impressive ring links two differing aesthetics in a thrilling and unusual design. The front is of strongly geometric form, centring on a rectangular panel of pavé-set circular cut diamonds, within a diamond frame that arches to meet at a point in the centre. However, this boldly geometric Art Deco jewel is embellished with many delicate details which seem to hark to an earlier and more ornate aesthetic, including a daintily millegrained border to the platinum, and shoulders and gallery intricately pierced and millegrained with an openwork design of floral scrolls. Vintage 1970's Cabochon Australian Opal Ring, 18ct Yellow Gold

A play-of-colour resembling that of an artist’s palette, this mesmerising opal gemstone is completely natural, formed by mother nature. I have always found opals as gemstones truly inspiring. Opals are formed when rainwater carries silica into hollows and fissures in ground rocks. As time goes by the silica molecules create a lattice structure, and as light passes through it, it diffracts and splits into different colours. This simple explanation belies the true splendor of opals and their explosions of rainbow colour, no two of which are the same. This ring is set with a superb opal showing an astonishingly intricate and vivid play of colour, like the feathers of a kingfisher. This mesmerizingly beautiful stone is set within an organically textured mount, which complements it beautifully. Opal Opal is a gemstone with a heavy symbolic attachment. It has long been a symbol of hope, purity, and truth and its characteristic prismatic appearance grants it a reputation of nothing less than enchanting. In folklore, it was thought to be the rarest and most powerful gem. A great symbol of love, that was even referred to as the Cupid Stone. This romantic connotation has led some to believe that it has properties that promote romance and passion. Caring for Opal Jewellery

This fantastic three-stone ruby and diamond ring is a tour-de-force of Belle Epoque jewellery design. This curved bombé ring shows how beautifully platinum can be worked - it is constructed out of stylised ivy leaves, the open work construction and millegrain borders give the design a lightness that doesn't overshadow the beauty of stones. The detailing is simply exquisite. This is a stunning antique ring. Please view the technical details below. • Tiffany-Morganite-Cocktail-Ring-Antique-Jewellery-Rose-Gold-18ct-1950-Round-Cut

Tiffany & Co | An Incredible Morganite Ring, Set in 18ct Rose Gold

Morganite is a very rare pink variety of beryl, the mineral family that includes emerald and aquamarine. Owing its pink colour to Manganese impurities, Morganite was first brought to the attention Tiffany’s head gemmologist Georg F Kunz during his tenure as vice president of the New York Academy of Sciences. Realising this beautiful and rare stone was a new discovery, he named it morganite after the financier JP Morgan, who was one of their key patrons. Thanks to Kunz’s pioneering approach to gemmology, Tiffany & Co. was an early adopter of these relatively new gemstones, including morganite, tanzanite and kunzite (named after Kunz), so it’s fitting that this exceptionally attractive stone has been mounted by this illustrious American jewellery firm. In gold mount chosen to accentuate the warm, sweet pink of its stone, this is the perfect mid-century cocktail ring.   Place Of Origin: America Date & Design Period:Circa 1950 | Vintage Metal Type:18ct Rose Gold; Signed 'Tiffany & Co' Stone Type: Morganite approximately 12ctLength 15.9mm; Width 15.9mm; Depth 9.2mm  Band Size:UK Q / US 8 Single complimentary re-size available. This ring can easily be re-sized up to any size.Front Head Dimensions: Length 18mm; Width 18mm; Height of setting 10mm Condition and Wear: Excellent; Wear commensurate with age. There are no major marks or scratches that we feel necessary to mention. All of our jewellery is professionally cleaned prior to us listing it.  Looking for the Ultimate Party Ring? • Aquamarine-Platinum-Antique-Cocktail-Statement-Ring-Diamond-1920s-Art-Deco

Art Deco | 1920s, Platinum, Aquamarine and Diamond Cocktail Ring

Aquamarine is the blue form of the mineral beryl. Gaining its name from its beautiful sea blue colour, it was credited with the ability to calm the ocean, ensuring that sailors were safe on their voyages. Aquamarines are most famously mined in Brazil, and examples of large, clean blue crystals are particularly prized. This beautiful Art Deco ring shows why  aquamarine captured the imagination of jewellers in the early 20th century, with its refined colour palette and its natural suitability for geometric cuts. With its generously proportioned central stone complemented by delicate foliate shoulders millegrain-set with single-cut diamonds, this is a great cocktail jewel, perfect for special occasions.    Place Of Origin: United Kingdom Date & Design Period: Circa 1925 |  Art Deco Metal Composition: Platinum Stone Composition: Aquamarine: 8.5ct Length 17.3mm; Width 12mm; Depth 6mm Total diamond weight: 0.35ct (estimated) Band Size: UK N / US 6.75 Single complimentary re-size available. This ring can easily be re-sized up to any size.
