Description
The settings of the diamonds in this antique ring are indicative of an early 19th century date, when jewels were mounted in silver on gold, and stones were set in large collets which were then pinched together and cut down to fit the edges of the stone to hold it in place. The patination of the silver offsets the diamonds in this ring beautifully, which surround a step-cut emerald in a beautiful, summery shade of bright bluish-green. A beautiful and very wearable example of this historic style.
