Antique Sapphire and Diamond and Natural Pearl Cocktail Ring
This Austrian Belle Époque beauty features a variety of elements that work in perfect harmony. Belle Époque, Synthetic Peach Sapphire and Diamond Cluster Ring, 14ct Yellow Gold
This Belle Époque piece is such a pretty ring, and quite rare. Synthetic gemstones were at the cutting-edge of scientific lab research and development. The ability to produce a sapphire in laboratory enabled jewellers to source the perfect gemstone; displaying magical colours such as the centre sapphire in this cluster ring. The peach stone is undeniably charming, and such a beautiful colour, the pink and orange notes combine with the gold band are reminiscent of a sunset. I love the design which incorporates the use of repetition using the smaller daisy-shaped diamonds to mirror the overall shape of the ring. A very unique ring, it would make a wonderful dress piece or engagement ring. Date & Design Period:Circa 1900 | Early 20th Century Metal Composition:14ct Yellow Gold, Platinum. Belle Époque, Platinum, Peridot and Diamond Ring, Platinum
Peridot is a variety of the mineral olivine, and as that mineral’s name suggests, it comes in one colour – a rich, slightly yellowish green, with only minor variations. Peridot’s vivid colour was said to have a healing effect, which helped open the heart, and bring comfort in periods of depression and sadness. This antique circular-cut peridot shows an almost electric, bright green, which is beautifully set in a delicate Belle Epoque platinum mount set with antique circular-cut diamonds in stippled millegrain borders. Belle Époque, 18ct Gold, Cabochon Peach Moonstone and Diamond Ring
At the heart of this ring is a wonderful peach coloured moonstone with a characteristic white sheen, held in a finely millegrained mount in warm yellow gold with delicately scrolled shoulders. The distinctive sheen of the moonstone is known as adularescence, and is caused by light interacting with the layered structure of the moonstone’s crystal. In this case it’s a particularly well-centred sheen of soft white, combining with the beautiful body colour of the moonstone to create a stone of unusual charm, seemingly lit from within.
