Stunning 1950s Morganite and Diamond Cocktail Cluster Ring, 18ct Yellow Gold

With a colour somewhere between a pale lilac and ballet slipper pink, this 7ct morganite is beautifully complimented by a ballerina style cluster of diamonds. An oval pink sapphire and diamond engagement ring set in 18ct white gold. • Emerald-Diamond-Navette-Ring-Art-Deco-Vintage-18ct-Yellow-Gold

An Impressive Emerald and Diamond Navette Ring, 18ct Yellow Gold

Emeralds are commonly included stones, with fissures, feathers, crystals and fluid-filled inclusions. This emerald however balances its classic, rich green colour with excellent clarity and purity, its colour heightened by yellow gold settings against a silvered mount set with circular-cut diamonds. Rings in this distinctive design are known as ‘navette’ rings – literally meaning ‘little boat’, from the shape of their settings. Popular from the 18th century onwards, they were prized for their elongating effect on the hand of the wearer. This navette ring is an unusually late example of this classic design, dated to 1927, and is made in a traditional way, but using the newly-discovered and refined platinum for the front for extra durability, ensuring it does not tarnish. A truly elegant design, with a breathtaking centre stone.   Please view the technical details below. "I love the undulating curves and natural leaf-like motifs of this ring. The platinum setting is detailed with soft millegrain complimenting the intricate metal work that has been so carefully lined with diamonds. Vintage | Platinum, Sapphire and Diamond Ring

"This vintage ring, with its delicate openwork construction, shows the leaps forward in design which were now possible with this new metal. With a trio of antique Old European-cut diamonds at its centre, it also includes an element of the Art Deco style, with four square sapphires adding a touch of sharp geometry to the otherwise sinuously curved design. A very stylish and wearable jewel- whether worn as an eye-catching engagement ring, or just casually, as a great addition to your jewellery collection." ~Caring for Sapphire Jewellery ~  Interested in this ring? Sapphires are well-known for their range of blues, but their pink and yellow shades are also treasured. A lesser known shade however is green, which sapphires form through densely layered bands of blue and yellow zoning caused by iron impurities within the crystal. Green sapphires tend to be a beautiful, forest green with dapples of blue and yellow zoning, quite unlike the greens of emeralds and peridots. Art Deco, French, Platinum, Emerald and Diamond Ring

"Rings like this are often known as ‘saddle’ rings due to their shape, which elongates the appearance of the hand. This early 20th century ring is a great example of this style, with a trio of fresh green emeralds accented with yellow gold collet settings, in a delicate openwork mount sparkling with pavé-set antique circular-cut diamonds. A brilliant statement ring that somehow also manages to be subtle and delicate - a rare thing indeed that resembles something that exists only in fairytales." Art Deco | Sapphire and Diamond Band, 18ct White Gold

"This Art Deco ring features a row of 6 emerald-cut sapphires sit within an 18 carat white gold band that is pavé-set with diamonds. The openwork setting of this ring is particularly interesting as it starkly contrasts the opulent paving of diamonds and lustrous azure sapphires. The Art Deco movement marked a time of exuberant excess, however it also represented scientific progress and drew inspiration from geometry and technology. Perhaps this intentional incongruity was a nod to these sources of inspiration. I love this Vintage Ring, because it is more complex that it looks."  Place of Origin: United Kingdom ~ Stone Type:  Each Sapphire 5.4 x 3.5mm  approximately 1.1ct Diamonds 1ct total ~ Setting Dimensions: Width of Band 22mm | Height of Setting 4mm ~ Metal Type: 18ct White Gold ~ Manufacture Date & Period: Art Deco | 1920s ~ Condition & Wear: Excellent / Wear commensurate with age ~ Band Size: UK I 1/2  /  US 4.5 (complimentary re-size available) This ring can easily be re-sized ~ What does my gemstone mean?
