An unusual Edwardian sapphire ring. Set to centre a cushion-cut sapphire secured in a rub-over oval shaped setting. The 2.20 carat sapphire is of wonderful transparency and saturation and is surrounded by a cluster of round-cut diamonds, varying in size that are secured in platinum grain settings. Pierced gallery with scroll detailing that continues onto the shoulders of the ring. Tested 18ct yellow gold and platinum, circa 1905.
