Description
This rare and charming antique ring is designed as two hearts beneath a crown, it is set with a pair of pink sapphires of exceptional quality that display the rich, saturated pink body colour for which Burmese stones are famed. The motif of paired hearts is an obviously romantic image, with its origins in Renaissance Europe. The paired hearts symbolise a couple in love, the crown above them symbolic of their fidelity to one another. Set with glittering rose diamonds, this ring is a particularly beautiful example of this very traditional motif, and a truly rare survival of its type.
