Vintage, 1990s 5ct cornflower blue sapphire and diamond three-stone ring

Provenance
Made during the 1990s, this sapphire and diamond ring is a stunning example of the tourbillon style. The tourbillon style is characterised by its swirling design that creates a sense of movement around a central stone. Set to centre with a natural sapphire with a stunning muted cornflower blue hue. This sapphire features some incredible natural inclusions - each a reminder of the stones remarkable formation beneath the Earth millions of years ago. Oval-cut and claw-set in an open-back setting.
Flanked on either side by a trefoil cluster of three small round brilliant-cut diamonds, six in total. To sinuous gold open-work which swirls out from the central sapphire and elegantly curls to form the shoulders of the ring which in turn flow to the D-shape solid gold shank.
