Description
This Art Deco ring features a row of 6 emerald-cut sapphires sit within an 18 carat white gold band that is pavé-set with diamonds. The openwork setting of this ring is particularly interesting as it starkly contrasts the opulent paving of diamonds and lustrous azure sapphires. The Art Deco movement marked a time of exuberant excess, however it also represented scientific progress and drew inspiration from geometry and technology. Perhaps this intentional incongruity was a nod to these sources of inspiration.
