Exceptional, Victorian, 18ct Gold, Diamond Three-Stone Ring

Diamond three-stone ring, circa 1880. Jewellers in the latter half of the 19th century benefitted from the discovery of a large-scale deposit of diamonds in South Africa, which supplied them with a new influx of diamonds, which had previously only been available sporadically from river deposits in India and Brazil. This impressive ring perfectly demonstrates the sparkling richness of diamond jewellery from around this time, set with a trio of beautiful, large late 19th century circular-cut diamonds, the central stone weighing approximately 1.20 carats. With the large facets of their antique cuts reflecting broad flashes of colour and light, and smaller diamond accents between them, this trilogy of diamonds is a truly showstopping choice for an antique engagement ring.
