Belle Époque, 18ct Gold, Cabochon Sapphire and Rose-Cut Diamond Ring

Sapphire and diamond ring, circa 1900. Art Nouveau, which appeared in a blaze of creativity at the end of the 19th century was inspired by a heady combination of symbolist poetry, newly available Japanese art and the flowing, asymmetrical forms of the natural world. This romantic and poetic movement which captured the imaginations of artists and craftsmen across Europe and America, and influenced every possible art form, including jewellery. With its elegantly scrolling design set with softly glittering rose-cut diamonds and a deep blue cabochon sapphire, this beguiling ring beautifully embodies this spirit of fin de siècle decadence – a wonderful addition to any jewellery collection.

Why I love it...

“The colour of this sapphire is mesmerising. This truly astonishing stone is a miracle of nature – a completely natural sapphire.
