Provenance
Made in 1949, this natural sapphire and diamond coronet cluster ring has such a gorgeous presence on the hand! Set to centre with a cushion-cut sapphire weighing approximately 2.34ct, it has an intense and moody teal colour which changes from an ocean blue to a deep jungle-green depending on how you turn it in the light. It has such a beautiful depth to it which really brings its colour to life.
Claw-set in an open-back setting and surrounded by a halo of round brilliant-cut diamonds, each perfectly matched in colour, estimated G-H. The diamonds have a total combined weight of 0.70ct, their bright brilliance contrasts so well with the stormy sapphire they surround.
The gallery is basket style and formed of structural linear open-work, the shoulders are very slightly open and feature chenier detail, they taper inwards before flowing to the solid gold D-shape shank
