Sapphire and diamond ring, circa 1930. The centre of this cluster is collet-set with an oval sapphire of a delicate, light ‘cornflower’ blue weighing 4.40 carats, within a border of circular-cut diamonds, the reverse with an intricately hand-pierced gallery of gothic trefoils. The timeless cluster design and the quality of its French manufacturing makes it a perfect engagement ring, though its size means that it would be equally wearable on its own as a cocktail ring.
