Description
Art Deco, sapphire and diamond cluster ring, circa 1920. Set to centre an absolutely stunning cornflower-blue oval sapphire further set with old-cut diamonds in a marquise shape cluster. The sapphire is a strong vivid colour with very good saturation, it’s not too light or dark and it’s a clean stone. The ring would have been made in France during the 1920s, it has the eagle head hallmark; for 18 carat gold. Over the last 100 years the ring has started to develop a lovely patina, adding a wonderful authentic charm and feel to the eye and touch. The ring sits low on the finger making it easy and comfortable to wear. It would make a truly special, and very unique, engagement ring.
