Provenance
Original to circa 1905, this incredible emerald solitaire ring is a true one-of-a-kind piece! Set to centre with a natural Colombian emerald weighing 0.90ct and displaying the most incredibly saturated and vibrant green hue. Colombia is renowned for producing the world's finest emeralds, and to this day continue to be the standard against which all other emeralds are compared. Antique emeralds from the historic mines are generally of the highest quality and continue to fetch the highest prices at auction.
The mount is no less spectacular than the stone it holds. The shoulders been beautifully hand crafted to resemble stylised ionic columns, carefully finished with granulation detail and refined fluting detail that adds an architectural finesse to the piece.
Antique solitaire rings centred around a coloured gemstone are rare, especially ones that feature such an emerald of such exceptional colour and quality. Over the years, rings like this one were most often broken up to have the stone re-set into more contemporary jewels. So, to have this piece survive in its original state is truly remarkable - this ring would be the perfect family heirloom piece!

You can purchase the ring and then return if for resizing if needed - if you buy an engagement ring, for instance, but it is not quite the right size for your partner. There is no additional charge for this but the buyer is responsible for the return postage and insurance.
