Zircon and diamond ring, circa 1920. Centring on a brilliant-cut blue zircon weighing 8.86 carats, to stepped shoulders set with single-cut diamonds within millegrain borders. Zircons have been prized for centuries for their superb lustre and dispersion, giving them a brilliance rivalling that of diamonds. The stepped shoulders with their millegrain borders are a classic feature of rings from the 1920s and 1930s, bringing a subtle touch of Art Deco to the design.
