Sam's Top Cocktail Rings

What is a cocktail ring? A cocktail, or dress, ring is what I usually refer to as a party ring. Typically a pronounced piece of jewellery, worn on the middle finger or fourth finger of the right hand, at an evening event or a special occasion... or, in bed on a Sunday morning!

I love cocktails- especially if they are an explosion of colour. There's nothing more enchanting than a striking cluster of dazzling gemstones on the hand. For me, the more outrageous the better. Your cocktail ring should get you noticed, something eye-catching. That said, this month we have put flamboyancy to one side, the collection features many stylish and chic rings focusing on design.

A Beautiful Sapphire and Diamond Wave Ring, Platinum

This vintage rhythmic ring consists of four alternating segments. The segments form one unified structure that is perfectly balanced and proportional. Filling the space between the segments are two rows of round-cut sapphires and two rows of round-cut diamonds that increase in size towards the centre of the ring.  To enhance both the brilliance and saturation of the stones, the undercarriage is pierced, allowing light to move around the ring. The stones are set flush in the platinum band giving the ring a relatively low profile and making it easy and comfortable to wear. Please view the technical details below. • Art-Deco-Filigree-Rhythmic-Diamond-Platinum-Ring-Vintage

Antique Diamond Ring, Platinum, Circa 1900

This extremely impressive ring links two differing aesthetics in a thrilling and unusual design. The front is of strongly geometric form, centring on a rectangular panel of pavé-set circular cut diamonds, within a diamond frame that arches to meet at a point in the centre. However, this boldly geometric Art Deco jewel is embellished with many delicate details which seem to hark to an earlier and more ornate aesthetic, including a daintily millegrained border to the platinum, and shoulders and gallery intricately pierced and millegrained with an openwork design of floral scrolls. A true rarity, with each millimetre lavished with attention, demonstrating superb craftsmanship.   Please view the technical details below. • Sapphire-Art-Deco-Diamond-18-Carat-White-Gold-Pavé-Set-Vintage

Art Deco | Sapphire and Diamond Band, 18ct White Gold

This Art Deco ring features a row of 6 emerald-cut sapphires sit within an 18 carat white gold band that is pavé-set with diamonds. The openwork setting of this ring is particularly interesting as it starkly contrasts the opulent paving of diamonds and lustrous azure sapphires. The Art Deco movement marked a time of exuberant excess, however it also represented scientific progress and drew inspiration from geometry and technology. Perhaps this intentional incongruity was a nod to these sources of inspiration. Please view the technical details below. This 18 carat white gold ring features three tracks of diamonds, set on top of the ring and curling around each edge. The setting has a low profile making it very comfortable and easy to wear. The three bands of diamonds emulate a high brilliance while the soft white gold tone, elevate the versatility of this piece. Neither too much nor too little- this ring would work beautifully as both a stand alone or stacked piece. It would make a very contemporary vintage engagement ring. The hexagonal shaped halo of diamonds deeply flatters the cut of the tourmaline and accentuates its peacock blue hue, it is a truly mesmerising visual and is almost hypnotising. • Antique-Victorian-18-Carat-Emerald-Diamond-Ring-Pavé-Set-Boutique-Jewellery

Antique | Victorian, 18ct Gold, Emerald and Diamond Ring

This uniquely shaped ring is a very interesting take on the traditional three-stone engagement ring. It features a large table in which the trio of stones are set and its overall brilliance is heightened by the paving of diamonds that lend their sparkle to the central trio. They layout of the stones is also atypical, and ventures away from the classic allotment that features a central gemstone that is accentuated by diamonds. With this piece, the central diamond is accented with two emeralds that originate from Columbia. They emit a vibrant leafy hue, that generously complements the sleek white diamond. The jeweller clearly thought outside of the box, and so this ring would be perfect for someone who enjoys jewellery that strays from the status quo. Please view the technical details below.
