Description
Art Deco sapphire and diamond ring, circa 1920. This ring centres on a claw-set cushion-shaped sapphire of a rich blue tone, with excellent clarity and a lively, well-proportioned cut. The shoulders are set with a stepped arrangement of baguette diamonds, a perfect, geometric touch of Art Deco. The diamond settings are stippled in the ‘millegrain’ technique, which softens the hard metallic finish of the platinum, giving full prominence to the diamonds, and revealing the early 20th century date of this stylish ring.
