Five stone Chrysoberyl ring, late 18th Century. Chrysoberyl gems are typically yellowish green stones that take their name from the Greek 'chryso', meaning 'golden', and 'beryl', meaning 'green'. This ring is set with five well-matched chrysoberyl stones that have been foiled in a closed-back gold setting.
