Pearl and diamond ‘Toi et Moi’ ring. This distinctive ring design, with two principal stones caught in each other’s orbit, is known as a ‘toi-et-moi’. This romantic name, meaning ‘you and me’, casts the stones as the two lovers whose bond the ring represents. When a young Napoleon Bonaparte presented one to Josephine de Beauharnais as an engagement ring, its popularity was assured, as Empress Josephine became one of the most stylish and influential figures of the early 19th century. This ‘toi-et-moi’ places a rare natural pearl on one side, and an early 20th century brilliant-cut diamond on the other, their interplay between soft, iridescent lustre and brightly sparkling facets making a particularly beautiful partnership - the most favoured of the Belle Epoque.

Why I love it...
“ The diamond in this ring is spectacular. This large stone has been beautifully cut, it has perfect symmetry and is full of sparkle and life. The light dances with amazing diamond. It's a stunner.”
