Description
With a traditional octagonal step-cut emerald at its centre, this cluster ring is a superb example of the high degree of technical perfection attained by jewellers in the early 20th century. With a yellow gold setting brining out its colour, the rest of the ring is given over to a glittering double border or rose-cut and antique circular-cut diamonds, in stippled millegrain borders. The front is filled with intricate detail, but the reverse is also testament to its quality, with each setting beautifully cut out of the metal by hand - a hallmark of high-quality jewels which is seldom seen in modern pieces. Mounted on a simple band, this Belle Epoque jewel would make a particularly glamorous and wearable engagement ring
