Description
Diamond half eternity ring, circa 1940s. This half eternity ring is set with a line of baguette diamonds between two lines of brilliant-cut and single-cut diamonds. This deceptively simple design is actually extremely difficult to achieve, packing in 56 carefully graduated diamonds into a curved surface of just 23 x 8mm. It also uses two entirely different setting styles – channel settings for the baguette diamonds, where the stones are threaded into a channel and held in place by metal ridges, and pavé settings for the circular diamonds, where the stones are set into a solid surface, with cut apertures for each stone and claws holding each in place. The overall effect is practically seamless, with the diamonds packed so closely together that barely any metal is visible. This glamorous ring is suitable for everyday wear, perfect for stacking or wearing alone.
