"A stunning and rare example of an early 19th century diamond and enamel ring. Set with a central cushion shape old mine diamond in a closed foil back setting framed by an engine turned royal blue enamel border and a single row of old mine cut diamonds outer border all set in silver. The centre diamond is incredibly lively and bright, full of sparkle. Each diamond is individually foil backed, a lapidary technique that is synonymous with Georgian period jewellery, to enhance intensity of colour and vibrancy of gems by layering a thin piece of metallic foil under each stone. The condition of the ring is remarkable considering it is over 200 years old."
