Diamond eternity ring, 1930s. Diamond eternity rings are so-called because they are set with a continuous band of diamonds, and symbolise never-ending love. This example is unusual for its segmented construction and its square millegrained borders around each diamond (approximately 1.40 carats in total) giving away its early 20th century date. A versatile ring, it is sleek enough to be worn in the traditional way – alongside the wedding or engagement ring, yet stylish enough to hold its own stacked against other statement rings, or even to be worn on its own, on any finger.
