Edwardian, 18ct Gold, Topaz and Diamond Ring

£5,750
Product SKU: ARB-485

Topaz and diamond ring, circa 1900. Topaz is an immensely historic stone. Its name is thought to originate in the Sanskrit word tapas meaning 'fire', and those warm golden tones are the colours for which it is most famous. It shot to popularity in the late 18th and early 19th century due to its flattering and delicate colour palette and beautifully clean crystals, particularly due to newly discovered deposits in Brazil. This antique cushion cut is the perfect shape to show off this classic hue, which comes alive by candlelight. Elegantly accented with gold claws and bordered with a delicate row of circular-cut diamonds, this topaz cluster is a truly beautiful and sophisticated jewel.
