Incredible Moonstone ring. Moonstone is a variety of the mineral feldspar, so named for the ghostly flash of pale light it displays as the stone is tilted. This flash of light, known as ‘schiller’ or ‘adularescence’ is due to the moonstone’s layered crystal structure, which reflects the light within the stone. This large moonstone cabochon is a superb specimen, displaying a well-centred and very attractive flash of white light against its pale blues body colour. Within a warm 15 carat yellow gold mount with beautiful scrolled shoulders, this wonderful Victorian dress ring is just as entrancing now as it was when it was created.

Why I love it...
“ By far a favourite of mine. The moonstone is just hypnotic, the display of blue and white colours is magical. It's hard to believe that this stone is completely natural, a product of mother nature. Truly remarkable. "
