Sapphire and diamond ring, early 20th century. At the centre of this ring is a mesmerising mid-blue Burmese sapphire weighing approximately 3.10 carats. Sapphires from Myanmar (Burma) are renowned for their rich blue colours and high-quality crystals, and are widely held to be among the finest in the world. It is surrounded by single-cut and rose-cut diamonds, its shoulders set with baguette diamonds to give it the subtlest hint of Art Deco geometry.
