Vintage, 1940s toi et moi diamond engagement ring
To find out more about the gemstones in this ring:
Provenance
Made during the early years of the 1940s, this vintage engagement ring is a particularly special piece as it survives with its original ring box and invoice dated 16th September 1942. Set with two transitional cut diamonds, perfectly matched in colour and clarity, the ring takes the design of a toi et moi.
The influence of the previous decade is clear, with the geometric design and linear open-work strongly reflecting the Art Deco style of the 1930s. Further accented with single-cut diamonds, grain-set and bordered by millegrain edge detail. The gallery is particularly fine - pierced with a linear design and featuring chenier detail.
Shoulders which taper to a solid platinum shank. Accompanied by original box from Pearce & Sons LTD, Leicester based jewellers. Also accompanied by original invoice, c.1942.
