Antique, Art Deco royal blue sapphire & diamond target cluster ring
Single complimentary re-size available. This ring can easily be re-sized up, however we do not recommend sizing down to smaller than size J.
Provenance
Original to 1925, this sapphire and diamond cluster ring is a beautiful example of Art Deco craftsmanship. This style of ring is known as a target ring and became the height of fashion during the 1920s. Named for its resemblance to a dart board, the style is characterised by a brightly coloured central gemstone surrounded by concentric haloes of diamonds.
The sapphire exhibits a remarkably rich royal-blue hue and is emerald-cut in a rub-over setting. The sapphire is natural and unheated, making this a particularly special and rare gemstone. To several haloes of round single-cut diamonds, grain-set and bordered by millegrain edging.
The gallery is a work of art in its own right, intricately pierced with stylised laurel leaves and the shoulders feature delicate chenier details. The shoulders are set with further diamonds and the band is comfortable and conforming to the finger - the perfect ring to be worn and loved everyday.
