Provenance
This 1950s cluster ring centres on a stunning Brazilian emerald with a stunning elongated outline and a wonderful colour. The colour is a viridis green with a certain softness that makes this ring all the more elegant. Rub-over set in an open-back setting, finished with very finely executed millegrain edge detail. To a cluster design which follows the elongated proportions of the central emerald.
Ten round brilliant-cut diamonds, perfectly matched in colour and clarity with exceptional brilliance and an impressive combined weight of 1.60ct. The diamonds are also in rub-over settings, surrounded by polished edges. The gallery has clearly drawn inspiration from the Edwardian era, when rings of this style were hugely popular, with its very low gallery which is intricately pierced with a pretty scalloping design. The shoulders are solid and slope downwards to form a solid D-shape shank in 18ct yellow gold.
In fact, the low profile and the way the ring itself feels when on the finger is perhaps my favourite thing about it. A joy to be admired from every angle - this ring is as comfortable as it is beautiful!
