Provenance
A ring fit for a mermaid! This stunning three-stone ring feels like looking into the sunlit shallow waters of the Caribbean sea. Set to centre with a large aquamarine of exceptional quality. Weighing over 7 carats, it is cushion-shaped with pleasingly deep proportions, giving it a bright, lively brilliance. Its colour is a captivating glacier-blue, perfectly saturated and evenly distributed throughout, while the clarity is outstanding - quite literally crystal-clear! This aquamarine was originally set in an Edwardian brooch (1901-910), meaning it will have been hand-cut and most likely came from the old mines of Brazil - the source of the world's finest aquamarines. Elegantly claw set with split-prong detail.
Two natural sea-green tourmalines are set either side of the aquamarine. Pear-shaped and set east-to-west (horizontally), their elongated outline compliments the cushion shape of the central stone. They have a combined approximate weight of 1.20ct and are claw set in open-back basket settings. The gallery is open and raised, leading to gently raised shoulders which flow to a solid 18ct yellow gold shank.
This ring has been thoughtfully designed and crafted to hold these specific gemstones, and the result is nothing short of exquisite.
