Provenance
Original to c.1980, this incredible flanked solitaire ring is set tot centre with an impressively large old-cut natural yellow sapphire weighing over 8ct. It has a delicate dandelion yellow hue and remarkable clarity - not a single eye-visible inclusion, allowing you to look straight through it! Its been set in an 18ct yellow gold rub-over setting which helps accentuate the golden tones and allows the sapphire to almost appear as though it is floating with no obvious claws to distract the eye.
Flanked by two marquise-cut diamonds of excellent colour and clarity, combined approximately 0.30ct, perfectly matched for symmetry, in 18ct white gold claw settings which have masterfully been done to be as discreet as possible. To 18ct yellow gold shoulders which lightly taper to a solid D-shape shank. The proportions of this ring are stunning, its a very elegant piece despite its impressive size and recalls the style of ring popular in the Edwardian period - delicate, ethereal and undeniably elegant!
