Provenance
Made in France during the 1960s, this sapphire and diamond cluster ring has such elegant proportions. Set to centre with a natural sapphire with a gorgeous velvety royal blue colour which is made all the more rich by the stones old cushion-cut. It has a very pleasing elongated oval outline which offers very flattering proportions when worn on the finger. Claw-set in an open-back setting.
Surrounded by a cluster of ten round brilliant-cut diamonds with a combined approximate weight of 1.40ct. Bright and brilliant, the diamonds have been meticulously matched in colour and clarity. Caw-set in white gold, the cluster follows the elongated oval outline of the central sapphire to form a beautifully proportioned and elegant coronet cluster design.
The gallery is intricately pierced with a decorative scalloped design and the rings profile sits nice and low on the finger, ensuring comfortable and practical wear. The shoulders are exceptional! The head of the ring is flanked by solid shoulders, each adorned by a small panel set with a further round brilliant-cut diamond grain-set and bordered by polished edges. The shoulders then neatly taper slightly inwards before flowing to a solid D-shape shank.
