Provenance
This sweet ruby and diamond cluster ring was likely made during the 1940s. Set to centre with a natural ruby with a vibrant cerise-pink hue and exceptional clarity. There is a pleasing depth to the colour of this ruby and it catches the light beautifully when worn on the hand. Claw-set in an open-back setting. Surrounded by an elongated cluster design of ten round transition-cut diamonds also claw-set in platinum. The transition cut was the last of the hand facetted diamond cuts and is recognised as the direct predecessor to the modern round brilliant. These diamonds have a lovely sparkle to them and have been meticulously matched in colour and clarity.
The gallery in intricately pierced and the ring's profile sits nice and low on the finger, making it perfectly comfortable and practical to be worn and adored everyday! Shoulders that lightly taper, open with fine chenier detail, flowing through to a solid 18ct yellow gold band. This ring is beautifully made, a timeless design and an exceptional stone - there is nothing not to love about this ring.
