Provenance
Original to c.1890, this opal and diamond ring is impossible to take your eyes off. Set to centre with a natural precious opal with an impressive weight over 2ct and alive with a mesmerising play-of-colour. Play-of-colour is the unique optical effect for which opal is known for; flashes of electric green, fiery orange and vivid violet ripple across its surface, shifting beautifully with every move.
The enchanting effect is caused by light passing through microscopic silica spheres within the stone, diffracting into a kaleidoscope of colour. Australia is renowned for producing some of the world's finest examples and during the Victorian era, such treasures travelled across the Empire to be set into jewels like this.
Flanked by several cushion-shape old-mine cut diamonds on either side, six in total with a combined weight of 0.30ct. Their softly glowing brilliance - a characteristic of these hand-cut diamonds - provides a gentle counterpoint to the opal’s fiery iridescence, enhancing rather than competing with its shifting rainbow of colours.

A small number of rings cannot be resized due to their material or design; this will always be clearly noted in the product description.
We provide free express shipping on all online orders.
For UK orders, orders are shipped via Royal Mail Special Delivery, the working day after the payment has cleared. Please allow 1-2 business days for your order to arrive.
For orders from all other countries, orders are shipped via FedEx or DHL, the working day after the payment has cleared. Please allow 4-5 business days for your order to arrive.
Both UK and international shipments are fully tracked and traceable and require a signature from customers upon receipt.
For all orders shipped to the U.S., we cover international tariffs and duties, so you won’t need to worry about them - they are included in the price on the website.
If you wish to return a ring, we offer a full refund minus the cost of these tariffs: 10% for antique rings (over 100 years old) and 15.5% for other pieces.
