Ruby and diamond ring, late 19th century. This late victorian ring centres on an untreated Burmese ruby of extraordinary quality, with superb clarity and a rich, saturated red body colour recalling the fabled ‘pigeon’s blood’ colour of the world’s most prized rubies. Fittingly, it is flanked by an excellent pair of circular-cut diamonds, ingeniously spaced with minute rose-cut diamonds, in a yellow gold mount intricately engraved with scrolled decorations.

Why I love it...

“ The detail on the setting is totally amazing. The ruby is a beautiful colour and the old diamonds are very bright, with lots of sparkle! ”
