Provenance
Original to c.1905, this Edwardian cluster ring is a very special piece. Centred on a natural blue spinel with an extraordinarily rich colour and notable violet undertones. Natural and unheated blue spinels such as this one are incredibly rare. Oval-cut and claw-set, surrounded by a cluster of cushion old-mine cut diamonds, each with their own characteristic sparkle and charming individuality!
The diamonds are rub-over set finished with millegrain edge detail. The gallery is extremely pretty, with open-work scrolling motifs and chenier details. The shoulders are very lightly raised and feature further chenier detail, flowing through to a solid D-shape shank. This ring is so flattering when worn on the hand - a true heirloom piece!
