Provenance
Made during the 1960s, this three-stone engagement ring features an old-cut diamond to centre, flanked by two modern round brilliant-cut diamonds. Old-cut diamonds are a historic diamond cut and this stone will have been cut by-hand over a century ago! Old-cuts are known for their softer, more romantic sparkle as compared to the bright brilliance and scintillation of modern diamonds. Having both types of diamond here next to each other is stunning - the best of both worlds!
The two brilliant-cut diamonds are slightly smaller than the central old-cut diamond, which offers a very balanced and elegant spread of stones across the finger. All diamonds claw-set with split-prong detail. The gallery is intricately pierced and the open shoulders feature fine chenier detail. The shoulders gently taper to a solid D-shape shank in 18ct yellow gold.
