Provenance
This stunning ring was made during the 1950s and features a natural sherry topaz with the most incredible hue. Sherry topaz is characterised by its warm and soft brownish-orange hue, reminiscent of dry sherry wine - this stone is exceptionally clear and has a pleasingly symmetrical emerald-cut. Claw-set and flanked by diamond-set shoulders.
On either side, a baguette-cut diamond set east-to-west in a rub-over setting with polished edges, two in total. Set immediately above and below, is a round transitional cut diamond, four in total, grain-set and bordered by millegrain edging. The open-work gallery features a linear design with fine chenier detail.
The shoulders are open, lightly tapering inwards before flowing to a solid 18ct yellow gold band. The proportions of this ring are exquisite and it recalls the original cocktail rings that were being made during the 1920s.
