To find out more about the gemstones in this ring:
Provenance
Original to c.1920, this Art Deco cluster ring is set with an exceptional natural red spinel that comes from Burma and is unheated. Spinels are wonderful gemstones which are highly durable and have excellent lustres - they are also gems that have very good clarity. This spinel has a charming cushion outline, secured in a platinum nub-over setting bordered by an open-work surround which leads to a cluster design, softly rounded square outline and panel shaped. Grain-set with round old-cut diamonds, graduated in size.
The gallery has a pleasingly low-profile with intricately pierced volute motifs with scrolling terminals. The shoulders gently taper inwards before flowing to a solid platinum shank that features ridged engraved detail.
