Here are five interesting rings from our founder Sam Mee's latest finds as he hunts out interesting and authentic antique and vintage rings.
Edwardian double cluster ring
Toi et moi or not? Typically toi et moi rings are two single stones entwining. This is technically a double cluster - but just as much a symbol of love. It was made around 1915, and has late Edwardian and early Art Deco vibes. "The sapphires are really bright and lively and I love the twist on the band - it would work beautifully as an unconventional engagement ring" says Sam. Price: £3,500. See full details.
Art Deco zircon ring
This ring is from circa 1925, the period when zircon was at its zenith. The women of the 1920s, the start of the Art Deco era, favoured the gem for its diamond-like refraction. "The 2.5ct zircon sparkles in any light and is a very eye catching colour," says Sam. Price: £1,595. More details.
1930s pink sapphire three-stone ring
"We’ve never had a ring quite like this before," says Sam. "It has three bubblegum-pink natural sapphires in a typical mid 1900s setting - but it feels so contemporary." Price: £3,500. Find out more.
1940s, sapphire & diamond cluster ring
"Incredibly striking, it’s a knockout engagement ring - a dozen diamonds and a large sapphire," says Sam. "The nearly-3ct sapphire is the most desirable velvety royal-blue colour." Price: £14,500. Find out more.
Victorian solitaire engagement ring
"Another contemporary looking ring yet nearly150 years old and so versatile - it goes with anything," says Sam. "It would look great mixed with other metals or periods." It has a heavy gold setting and a low profile making it suitable for every day wear. Price £1,495. Find out more.
