Art Deco, ruby and diamond plaque ring, circa 1900. Antique cushion-cut ruby set in an open-back millegrain and rubover setting surrounded by old cut diamonds in a beautifully carved open-worked setting with two further old-cut diamonds set in the shoulders. The ruby is clear and bright, a contrast against the platinum setting. The ring is sits perfectly flat on the finger making it easy and comfortable to wear daily. An ideal, and unusual, engagement ring. The ring comes with a certificate stating the ruby is natural, untreated, and of Burmese origin.
