Sapphire and diamond ring, circa 1900. An outstanding example of a mid-size sapphire and diamond cluster, this would make an excellent choice for an engagement ring. At its centre is a beautiful unheated Burmese sapphire of a classic mid blue, with excellent clarity. Burmese sapphires are famed for their beautifully saturated blues, and are considered among the finest in the world. This charming stone is set within a border of circular-cut diamonds, the outer edges of their settings accentuated to bring out a petal-like effect.

Sapphire: approximately 2.00 carats, accompanied by GCS report no. 80240-89, stating that the sapphire measuring 9.1 x 7.3 x 3.7mm of Burmese (Myanmar) origin, with no indications of heat treatment.
Diamond: total carat weight approximately 0.50 carats
Very light wear consistent with age and use, some discoloration of metal commensurate with age, one small break to pierced gallery on underside of setting.
