The style of this ring is called \u003cmeta charset=\"utf-8\"\u003ebombé - meaning bomb-shaped in French - due to its characteristic domed shape. These rings mark the early development of the cocktail ring which was to come into full bloom towards the end of the Art Deco era. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eSet to centre with a natural ruby of Siam (modern day Thailand) origin in an open-backed rub-over setting in yellow gold. The ruby has such a striking scarlet-red colour which is often hard to come by, with most natural unheated rubies being more on the pink side. To an intricately pierced bombé design formed by refined openwork - known then as \"platinum lace\" due to its delicacy and precision.
