Round old-cut diamonds are a historic diamond cut that emerged at the end of the 19th century. They were a result of two revolutionary events in the history of diamond cutting; the invention of the bruting machine which allowed diamonds to be cut in the round, and the discovery of the South African deposits. Diamonds were more plentiful than ever before and could be cut with symmetry and precision that was not previously possible. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eThe central diamond is flanked by two further round old-cut diamonds, to another pair of much smaller diamonds at each end - all have been carefully graduated in size to offer a flattering and harmonious balance of stones across the finger. Each diamond was cut by-hand well over a hundred years ago, as such they have the charming character and sparkles that antique diamonds are known and loved for.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eThe diamonds are all claw-set and interspersed by tiny rose-cut diamonds which add a soft and romantic finesse to an already perfect piece! The gallery of the ring is sublime.
