The baguette-cut was an innovation of the Art Deco period, its clean sleek lines perfectly complimented the geometric ideals of the movement. The baguette-cut has a distinctive sparkle, not the scintillation and fire produced by round-cut stones, but rather a 'hall-of-mirrors' effect, light is reflected in long, parallel planes. The gallery under the amethyst if far more ornate, it features scrolling motifs that coil to form hearts all the way around the collet.
