Sapphire and diamond ring circa 1910. This ring is collet-set with a cushion-shaped sapphire of a subtle violet-blue hue, often known as ‘cornflower blue’, associated particularly with sapphires from Sri Lanka (Ceylon). The surround is a double border of single-cut diamonds in light and subtle platinum settings with millegrain edges, subtly pierced between the borders, giving this classic cluster design refinement and delicacy. The size of the setting makes a perfect statement piece, stylish but comfortable enough for everyday wear, with a low profile against the hand and protective settings ensuring its lasting beauty.
