Sapphire and diamond ring, circa 1900. An outstanding example of a mid-size sapphire and diamond cluster, this would make an excellent choice for an engagement ring. At its centre is a beautiful unheated Burmese sapphire of a classic mid blue, with excellent clarity. Burmese sapphires are famed for their beautifully saturated blues, and are considered among the finest in the world. This charming stone is set within a border of circular-cut diamonds, the outer edges of their settings accentuated to bring out a petal-like effect.
